Hello ! my name is " memel ",and i have a Renault safrane with 2.5 Volvo engine !

(For administrator or moderator,or other users, if you want i talk in CZ ;)
So,I'm french, 31 years old,and i live in france near to Paris.(130 kms)

i have have this car since 2 weeks.
She's full stock,194 000kms,blue code 455,Model RXE.
I put on 100% E85, and in france it's 0.89 cts/liter

My JOB it's mecanics'older and now i'm paint in car.

In the past i have many lot of cars : vw golf mk3,mk5,clio dci,volvo 480,bmw 325 td,525 td ....

I found this forum Accidentally(By chance) and i' m enjoy ;)

Welcome to the forum, Memel! Your car looks pretty, especially the engine is clean like new!
What you needed to put your car on E85? And what about cold starts, leakages and power? Any problem? :-)

thanks for my car! I like clean engine,it's my passion.

For the E85? No problem,cold start ok,just a little power in down,but another anything problem.My engine is stock, no modif or ethanolbox.And you put e85 in your safrane?

Later (after 2000kms) i go to change fuel filter,spark plugs ( http://www.oscaro.com/bougie-d-allumage ... 2893-686-p),oil(5w40) oil filter,coolant water ...

So i need some parts of initiale for my future modified cars,and it's hard to find. French guys make big price for parts used in sale...
In few weeks, i change the time belt with water pump,accessoiries belt,coolant,....

I have got biturbo so I don't want to risk the engine damage with E85. I was just curious because anybody of my friends had problem with E85 even when mixed half/half with petrol. I would prefer LPG (propane gas) but not into biturbo. LPG is more wide spread then E85 here in Czechia and it is cheaper and it works quite well depending on system installed of course.

Pieces from Initiale are very rare as well as baccara or biturbo special parts. They are not only expensive but hard to find too.

I recently changed active suspension parts, brakes and now I am working on new stainless steel exhaust. Almost everything has to be made new or modified from other cars. But people from this forum help each other and we have found together solutions for many problems.

Especially boss of this forum "Boda" spent a lot of time on these cars, he knows them perfectly and he also built couple of special Safranes Renault has never done like Phase II with active suspension or V6 24V with manual gearbox from Laguna. You can see his cars here in this thread and it is worth seeing!!! He is also crazy about cleanness of his car as you are. :-)

BTW. You have got nice avatar photo... Is she French or Czech? :-P

Ok so i understand for your BT (BITURBO) it's a beautyful car,you are afraid to put on E85.
The lpg in france it's 0.91€ cts,and its hard to fine similar to E85.(what the pice in Czech republic?)

Yes of course, parts of initiale or baccara,are much expansive, and it's hard to find in good or never been used.

I want to put in my safrane many lot of part from initiale or baccara (dashbord,door panels,floor ...) and weels from Laguna 2 phase 1 (silverstone weels,if you see)


For the 2.5 20v it's very very hard to find stainless steel silenciers,i'm hangry :evil: But it's possible to make hand made ;) (you think manifold stainless steel from volvo 850,are possible to put on safrane???)

Or after for the silencer,it's possible to put an universal stainless steel,with big work !!! :smichypozemi:

You can find there some pictures of it and modifications made.

The price of E85 is about 1€ here, LPG is everywhere and it is about 0,7€.

I will make stainless steel exhaust on my own,because it is impossible to buy from anybody. Or better it is somehow possible through the guys from french biturbo forum but it is expensive and difficult to get there by the post. I will also install racing catalytic converter with higher flowrate and combination of expansion and absorbtion type of silencers for better engine flushing and hopefully more power.

I know silverstone wheels. I had them on my previous Safrane and I already have one set at home. I plan to use them during winter. They look great on Safrane and no modifications are necessary.

I don't know if manifold from Volvo is possible to put on Safrane. I have never got Safrane with 2,5 engine and I don't know a lot about this engine. Boda thought about some modifications on 2,5 liter based safrane with Volvo turbo engine. Maybe he will know more.

Czech is quite difficult to learn so much as French is. I would like to learn French, it sound sexy to me but I haven't found right motivation which has to be cute and French (not only) speaking. :good: I wish you good luck with you Czech!

Hi and welcome melkel,

your Safrane is pretty. My dad has Safrane with Volvo engine too (and automatic gearbox). I had two Safrane, first with engine 2,2i (very slow car) and second with 2,1 dT (slower than first). :) But it was great car! Now i have Vel Satis with 2.0 turbo engine and I am (Vel) satisfied. ;) But my dream is Safrane biturbo. It is the best and most beautiful car!

E85 is an interesting power. I have to tell my dad, let it try!

By the way, i love France! I play petanque over 15 years and France visiting about three times a year. ;)

By the way 2, sorry for my english. :D

On the French forum nobody is interested or posts, nevertheless I put full of photos, but well.... For your velsatis, it is even the mainspring as mégane RS, no? Say to your father that e85 is very well and that it has to try:)

Then yes effectively in Czech republic the price of fuels is the same that in France.

Hejlák, you are a player of petanque, it is good but you should not forget the ricard or the pastis that goes with it, you know?

For the échappemment it is clear, it is too much complicated to find in stainless steel, and the collector of volvo in stainless steel would be too good if that amounted on Safrane:)

As regards the turbo of 850 T5R it would be brilliant to put all the systême on safrane, really....

In any case I am great happy to be here on the forum, at least it is alive and friendly.

I can maybe create a thread with the correspondences of the French words towards English and you would publish(edit) by putting the word or the expression in your language !!!!

Yes, but 2.0T engine in Megané RS is more powefull. Same engine in Megané RS have 169 Kw, only 120 kW in Satis.

I never forget to pastis, Ricard or 51 in France. :) It´s very good drik, when it´s mixed with cold water and ice, of course.

I travel to village called Ruoms on 9th September, but it is too far from Paris.

OK thus the same engine as on the mégane RS except that powerful, damage because the velsatis is heavy!

Ah yes if you come in France, if you do not drink pastis or a ricard you is not in the customs...

There are a lot of strong alcohols also for the pear, the calvados and the others.

It is a pity you come enough far from bets. Thank you for stickers, I see that with the concerned member.

Thus good news next Saturday morning, I replace my time belt,I change the belt, the pebbles, the water pump, the belt accessory, cooling liquid also.

I have it for 200€ of parts and the workforce it is me which makes it by means of a friend with whom I was an owner of a garage before.

Here are quite a lot of news ! I also received my candles(spark plug) and my air filter this morning by parcel!

Also,i have send the payment for the Pioneer radio, i'm enjoy when i receved him !!!!
