Nazdar! Safrane Milenec, Hello Safrane-lovers, Let me introduce myself ; I’m a 57 years young man, who lives in Burgundy in France and I am enjoying my second Safrane, a 3L V6 24v RXT (2000) Automatic, complete with electric sunroof , Carminat and all other luxury gadgets. I bought my first Safrane, a 3L V6 RXE (1995) in 1998, however about a year and a half ago (and after more than 300.000 kms), I noticed some problems with the 4th gear of the automatic gearbox. As repair was going to be quite expensive (and driving in third is a bit costly), I decided to buy the 5 years younger 24v – it runs even better, is more silent and uses less petrol than the old one ! Hi I'm having trouble with my cam belt (Timing belt). Basically some of the bolts have seized and can not be removed! My car is at 75K miles. I have the new cambelt and rollers but I can not get them fitted! Also I have the N7U engine (B5254F I beleive Volvo call it) but there are apparently 2 timing differences. One apparently has a hydraulic tensioner and one doesn't. My local Renault say they *think* mine does not have it so I bought the cam belt kit for that. How can I be sure I have the right belt and that my engine does not have the hydraulic tensioner? Do you have any advice? |
