Ok, thanks.

I have the car going in to get its droplinks fitted on Wednesday, I am hoping that the knocking from the rear can be eliminated by doing this!

Droplinks, can be called stabilizer rods or stabilizer links.

They are different to your anti-rollbar, which goes from one side of the car to the other. Your droplinks go from your axle to your chassis (I think!) they stop the car from rolling into corners too hard. If I'm right, they actually work with your anti-rollbar, but where your anti-rollbar is one piece (front & back) you have a droplink in each corner of the car, working independently.

I'm not a mechanic, so I've probably not explained this well at all.

The front droplink is on top and the rear one is on the bottom.

The front one is from a third party supplier and the rear one is original Renault part.

EDIT - I could not seem to get the [img] code to show my image, did I upload to the wrong gallery?

Thanks for explaining, I had no idea what they meant. I tried to work it out by looking at others, but you all write in Czech. :P

I got the droplinks fitted to my car and the difference is great, there is no noise from the back of my car now. I look forward to cruising once again.

I ordered this from eBay, I've been told that it will be very useful when diagnosing problems with the car.

:-D You too write everything in your native language...

It's fine that your car works perfectly again. I wish to say the same about my Safrane sometimes.

These CDs are very helpful!

You're driving a Phase 1, with a HUGE engine! The Phase 1s were never best known for their reliability.

Is it giving you trouble at the moment?

Actually, the problem is not in the engine or car. The problem is in Renault service and price of spare parts. Car is great and reliable, but there are things which should be replaced when worn after some time. The problem is that for example you want to replace suspension units and they cost about 3000 pounds!!! So you are using the same ones for the whole life of car!And my Safrane has more than 200000 km. The second problem is that nobody I know understands and knows this car well. No one is able to repair electrical system for example. I have problems in electricity, for example my rear white lights used when you drive backwards (I don't know how it is called in English) don't work and no one can help me. Authorized service centers can only check the oil level in the cars younger that 5 years. Everything older is for them unknown. And I don't speak about difficult service and about prices.

So that is real problem I see.

It is sad that you cannot get a good auto-electrician to do the work for you.

I feel lucky with the mechanic that I have, so far he has been able to solve everything.

The prices are outrageous, for example I was quoted €300 + VAT(21%) + I had to bring the old part in, for a driveshaft. I got one from a scrapyard for Å

How much would a driveshaft cost in your country?

How is everyone here?

Sorry I have not been on in ages, work has been hard.

Did you have many for the meetup in June?

My car is still going fine. A few small niggles, but nothing major.

Hi.It's good to see you again after so long time!

The meeting in June was fantastic. Finally, 15 cars arrived, which was much more then we expected.

We are planning next meeting to the end of September and I am sure that there will be more than 20 cars there! And it is a huge row of Safranes on the road. :-)

I have also a lot of work so I haven't got a lot of time to work on my car. But it goes quite well, I need just some smallnesses.

Back again, lol. You can't get rid of me that easily!

I might have a favour to ask of someone here at some stage, but I recently met a Polish Safrane owner here in Ireland who is quite handy so I'll see.

How is everyone doing anyway? I got a few emails, but I really don't know what they meant, sorry!
